The 100 Year Starship (100YSS) in collaboration with ISC will organise a seminar on 5 March 2015 to launch the "100YSS EU Hub". The seminar will take place from 14:00 - 15:30 at Avenue Marnix 28, 1000 Brussels.
The 100YSS, a US Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) funded project, fosters the radical leaps in knowledge, technology design and human systems to make human interstellar travel capabilities a reality in the next 100 years.
Dr Mae Jemison, Principal of 100 Year Starship and the first African-American female astronaut, who flew into space in 1992 aboard the Endeavour, becoming the first African-American woman in space, will be the keynote speaker at the seminar, organised on the occasion of launching the "100YSS EU Hub" to be hosted by ISC.
During this seminar, the discussion will be centred around the importance of the grand challenge of interstellar travel to push both R&D and societal benefits here on Earth. The core focus of the seminar will be the advancement of 100YSS objectives through collaboration with EU stakeholders.
