ISC in cooperation with Prof. Ioannis A. Tsoukalas, MEP will organise a breakfast briefing on "Greece EU Council Presidency: Science Priorities" which will take place in the European Parliament on Wednesday, 4th of December 2013 from 8:30- 9:30 in Members’ Salon. The meeting will be addressed by Dr Christos Vasilakos, Secretary General for Research & Technology at the Greek Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs and Mr David Harmon, Member of the cabinet of Commissioner Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, Research, Innovation and Science, among others.
The EU Council Presidency is a key forum for science policy and the forthcoming Greece EU Council Presidency, which kicks off in January 2014, will take place at a crucial time, namely the commencement of Horizon 2020. The objective of the breakfast meeting is to facilitate a discussion on the future priorities for the Greece EU Council Presidency in the area of Science, Research & Development. The meeting will provide an ideal framework for informal engagement between participants to explore new opportunities that the upcoming EU Council Presidency and Horizon 2020 could bring in these three areas.
